Collagen sales growth has surged over the past three years, but the bulk of these still come from the Beauty-from-Within category. In this category collagen grew from 0 percent to 9 percent market size in just three years, although growth for collagen is also strong in the Joint Health and Sports Nutrition categories. Because of the large dose of collagen that is needed for a product to be efficacious, it is most prominently found in the powder delivery format and is a supplement ingredient that is projected to shift into functional food in the coming years.
